The Seattle-based non-profit Solid Ground plans to start construction next fall on a 52-unit apartment complex for homeless families on a site in the former Sand Point Naval Station at Magnuson Park.
The development, slated for completion at the end of 2010, will be on what is now a parking lot near Northeast 65th Street and Sand Point Way. A second phase will add 54 units for single adults but no construction date has been set.
