Amazon's campus brightens real estate picture in Seattle

The new Amazon headquarters eventually will have 11 buildings on six blocks along Terry and Boren avenues between Mercer and John streets. There will be 1.7 million square feet of office space and nearly 100,000 square feet of retail.

Dignitaries and others on Monday celebrated the groundbreaking of another phase of the massive Amazon.com headquarters in South Lake Union, one of the bright spots in an otherwise dismal local commercial real estate market.
