Starwood starts filling hole at Second & Pine

This week Starwood Capital Group will begin filling the large open hole at Second Avenue and Pine Street in downtown Seattle where it had planned to build a luxury hotel and condo project prior to the economic downturn.

A spokesman said the Greenwich, Conn.-based company will start construction of the high-rise when financing becomes available.
