Touchstone gears up for real estate recovery

    Developer Douglas Howe of Touchstone yesterday said his company has lined up a tenant to lease about half of an office building in a mixed-use project proposed for downtown Bellevue, and is gearing up to buy more property in downtown Seattle.

    The Bellevue project, which includes a 250-room hotel and a 15-story office, has financing. “We have a partner that's ready to go,” Howe said. He referred to the project as the “first phase” but declined to elaborate.
