Bothell wants a team to design ‘energy district' for downtown

The biggest barrier to this type of system is infrastructure because streets have to be ripped up to create a network of underground pipes to link the buildings. But Bothell’s streets are going to be replaced anyway as part of a major downtown redevelopment.

The city of Bothell is looking for a team to create a plan for a community energy district in the city that will increase energy efficiency and reduce costs by letting several buildings share energy from a main source.
