Eastside mayors see growth in their future

Mercer Island will have a million-dollar fountain, the Parkplace project in Kirkland will get built, and Sammamish will have taller buildings and a bigger park in its core.

That's the vision those cities' mayors offered yesterday when asked what their downtown will look like in 20 years. The mayors of Bellevue and Bothell also were panelists at the Downtown Bellevue Association's event.
