City committee OKs taller buildings in Roosevelt area

A Seattle City Council committee yesterday approved a major rezone for the Roosevelt neighborhood.

The 5-to-3 vote helps clear the way for a large project by Roosevelt Development Group. RDG wants to develop 65-foot-tall buildings near a future light rail station. The full council's final approval is expected next month.
