Memorial today for Steve Johnson

SEATTLE — Steven “Stretch” Clifford Johnson died Jan. 27 at his home in Medina of liver cancer. Johnson operated SCJ Commercial Real Estate for more than 30 years.

He was born in Seattle in 1946 and grew up near Redmond. He attended Lake Washington High School, and got scholarships for tennis and basketball from the University of Washington. Johnson graduated in 1968, and served in Vietnam in the U.S. Navy.

Johnson married Claudia Marks in 1979 and had four sons: Ryan, Nathan, Quinn and Sam. In 2000, he married Susan Strang and they had a son, Zachary. He was a member of Overlake Country Club and Thunderbird Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

A celebration of his life is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. today at Overlake Golf and Country Club. Contributions may be made to the American Liver Foundation of Seattle.
