Acquisition of Grubb & Ellis leaves ‘a lot of work to do'

  • Officials from Newmark Grubb Knight Frank say the new company has 7,000 employees and 240 offices on five continents.

    The bankrupt commercial real estate company Grubb & Ellis has been acquired, but a company official said it will take a few weeks to see how the situation shakes out locally.

    Two Seattle brokers, Craig Hill and Janet Backus, no longer work for Grubb & Ellis. Hill said he and Backus are going to work for another brokerage, but he declined to say which one. He wants to let the new company make the announcement. Backus did not return a call.
