Amazon's first tower could start in a year

  • The massive project still faces a lot more vetting. The design commission starts its review May 17.

    Amazon.com's proposal for a 3.3-million-square-foot headquarters in South Lake Union cleared a hurdle this week when a city design review board agreed the project team should be allowed to apply for a master use permit.

    This wraps up the early design guidance phase for the three-block project that is centered around Lenora Street and Seventh Avenue. Each block would have one high-rise office tower and one shorter building.
