Amazon says alley vacations are critical for headquarters

This sketch shows Block 20 along Seventh Avenue. Under the plan, Seventh would be more of a thoroughfare for pedestrians and bicyclists, with entrances to parking garages on other streets. Cars would still be able to use Seventh.

The Seattle Design Commission yesterday gave a partial blessing for Amazon.com to vacate alleys for its new 3.3-million-square-foot headquarters in the Denny Triangle.
