Site picked for new Mukilteo terminal

MUKILTEO, Snohomish County — The Washington State Department of Transportation Ferries Division recommended yesterday that the aging ferry terminal at Mukilteo be replaced with a new terminal one-third of a mile to the east at a site known as Elliot Point 2.

The existing terminal has a 60-year-old dock in need of significant upgrades, inadequate passenger connections between the ferry and nearby commuter rail and transit facilities, and pedestrian and vehicle conflicts.
