TUKWILA — The King County Housing Authority starting Saturday will prohibit smoking in all its 3,366 public housing units.
“Not only is this an important health measure, it will enhance the safety of our communities from the perspective of fire risk,” said KCHA Executive Director Stephen Norman in a release. “It also saves the Housing Authority — and therefore taxpayers — money spent to rehab apartment units when a smoker moves.”
