A bigger aquarium, new market complex would be ‘partners' with new waterfront

The expanded aquarium could include a new structure under the Overlook Walk (1). The Pier 60 building (2) and 30,000 square feet of Pier 59 (3) would be redeveloped, and a new 35,000-square-foot South Wing (4) would house new exhibits.

The executive director of the Pike Place Market Preservation and Development Authority said construction should begin by the middle of next year on a housing, retail and parking complex designed to connect the market to the waterfront.
