Kirkland big box store will be converted into $42M police station, jail, courthouse

  • A 100,000-square-foot former Costco furniture store in Totem Lake will be renovated to house those services.

    The space will house courtrooms, police and a jail for 55 inmates. An indoor firing range may be added.

    About two years ago, the city of Kirkland annexed the Finn Hill, North Juanita and Kingsgate areas, bringing another 30,000 residents into the city.
