Homestead to buy 15 houses

SEATTLE — The Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle gave a $187,500 grant to Homestead Community Land Trust to help it buy and fix up distressed Seattle houses, which it then sells at below-market prices to people with low incomes.

The application for the Affordable Housing Program grant was sponsored by Seattle-based HomeStreet Bank.
