The Washington State Convention Center's Public Facilities District bought two acres where it is considering an expansion of the convention center.
Property records show the PFD paid a company called Cassieford Co. $56.45 million for the land, which is adjacent to the Convention Place Station, where a possible expansion could be. The deal includes land between Ninth and Boren avenues, Howell Street and Olive Way as well as parcels on the southeast and southwest corners of Boren and Olive. Much of the land is occupied by a Honda dealership.
