Park expert says Seattle can learn from Bryant Park's success in NYC

Fixing downtown Seattle's most troublesome public spaces doesn't have to cost a lot.

Dan Biederman, president of Biederman Redevelopment Ventures Corp. in New York, told the audience at Downtown Seattle Association's annual economic forum on Wednesday that uninviting parks such as Westlake and Occidental can be turned around if they are well maintained and offer visitors more to do.
