Tarragon LLC will present its plans to the city for a 15-story apartment building at 701 Valley St. in South Lake Union.

An early design guidance meeting is scheduled for 8 p.m. Jan. 7 at Queen Anne Community Center, at 1901 First Ave .W.

The building would be constructed on the east side of Aurora Avenue North, south of Valley Street.

Weinstein A+U is the architect.

The image is a preliminary massing study that shows the building's possible size and shape.

Tarragon's proposal is for up to 158 market-rate apartment units and 86 parking spaces on three levels. No commercial space is planned.

The building would have an outdoor terrace and dog run on the second floor and a lounge and outdoor terrace on the top floor. The ground floor would have a lounge, leasing office, and bike and trash storage.

Both the lobby and the parking access would on Valley Street.

The proposed building height is 152 feet. In plans filed with the city, the architect said the height is 90 feet shorter than zoning generally allows because the structure is in the flight path of Lake Union sea planes.

The project is targeting LEED gold certification.

A two-story office building and a parking lot would be demolished.
