Restaurant opening at Premiere on Pine

Hawaiian chef D.K. Kodama will open a restaurant in Holland Partner Group's Premiere on Pine at 815 Pine St.

Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar on Pine is set to open this fall with a menu of contemporary Japanese and Pacific Rim-influenced dishes.

The restaurant is Kodama's first outside of Hawaii, where he opened his first restaurant in 1996. Before that, Kodama spent three years in the Seattle area and then traveled around the U.S., Mexico and the Caribbean to learn about food.

Kodama has six restaurants on three Hawaiian islands.

CLO Design will design the 3,500-square-foot Seattle restaurant, with floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides to let people see in from outside. There will be a high-energy lounge overlooking the Paramount Theater across the street, and a quieter dining room with a design similar to Premiere on Pine.

The 40-story tower opened about six months ago. More than half of the 386 units have been leased.

Weber Thompson designed Premiere on Pine and Holland's construction arm built it. Other team members are Susan Marinello, interior designer; Cary Kopczynski & Co., structural engineer; and Holland Residential, property manager.
