Dexter Station may be expanded with another 10-story structure

Capstone Partners is considering adding more space to Dexter Station, an office complex in South Lake Union.

Preliminary permit documents filed with the city show Capstone is looking at putting a 10-story structure with up to 165,000 square feet at 1115 Dexter Ave. N., next door to the 10-story, 346,000-square-foot complex that was completed last year.

Documents say the structures would be connected. The expansion plan also includes 3,000 square feet of retail and 151 parking spaces.

Facebook now leases most of the space in Dexter Station, but it's unclear if Facebook would take the expansion space.

Capstone Partners and Facebook did not return requests for comment.

LMN Architects is listed on documents for the expansion. LMN designed Dexter Station, and JTM Construction built it.

The height limit on the sloping site is 85 feet. The new building would step up with the grade — with six stories on Dexter and five stories on the western side, facing Aurora, which is at a higher elevation.

Like Dexter Station, the expansion would have several green roofs with patio space on different levels.
