SEATTLE — The site of the old Captain's Nautical Supplies sold for $1.95 million, according to King County records.
Located at 2500 15th Ave. W., at the dead-end intersection of West Wheeler Street, the 10,500-square-foot site is zoned commercial, though several new apartments have recently been built in Interbay.
The sellers were Joan and Roger Ewing, who bought the property in 1984 for $325,000. Last year their prior tenant, Emery Shrock, sold the now 119-year-old business to Jim Wheat and Bill Hanneman. They then moved Captain's to Ballard, where it's become a travel boutique.
The buyer was RPI Interbay LLC, associated with an attorney who often represents Mike McKernan's Real Property Investors.
The property is located along the Metro D Line, opposite the Interbay P-Patch and golf center, and would be served by the planned Sound Transit 3 expansion.
The roughly 5,000-square-foot property to the north of Captain's contains a 1902 single-family house that last sold 20 years ago for $132,000.
