Redmond Town Center site sells for $8M to group planning Archer Hotel

The Archer would be the third hotel at Redmond Town Center.

Part of the Redmond Town Center complex sold for $8 million, according to King County records, and a new boutique hotel is being planned there.

The seller was G&I VII Redmond Retail LLC, which is associated with DRA Advisors in New York. The buyer was Redmond LW Hotel Associates LLC, which is associated with LodgeWorks, a hotel management company in Wichita.

DRA Advisors became the majority owner of Redmond Town Center's retail space after a 2013 sale by Macerich. JSH Properties is the minority owner and manages Redmond Town Center's retail space. Shorenstein Properties owns the office space at Redmond Town Center.

The roughly 41,000-square-foot property that sold is at 7210 164th Ave. N.E., and is now home to a Claim Jumper restaurant, built in 1998. Plans filed with the city of Redmond show a demolition permit was issued for the Claim Jumper and a building permit is pending for constructing a seven-story Archer Hotel.

The hotel would have about 200,000 square feet, with parking above grade for 169 vehicles.

Archer's website describes the company as “a boutique hotel collection filled with curated luxuries and a sincere staff dedicated to your service.” It now has two hotels — in New York City and Austin — and is building hotels in Napa, California, Burlington, Massachusetts and Florham Park, New Jersey.

The Archer would be the third hotel at Redmond Town Center, joining a Marriott and Residence Inn. Redmond Town Center is about three miles from the Microsoft campus.

LodgeWorks' application with the city lists LK Architecture of Wichita as its architect. No contractor is named.

Archer and Lodgeworks did not respond to DJC queries.
