Council okays U District upzone

SEATTLE — The Seattle City Council voted Tuesday to approve the HALA upzone of the University District.

Buildings up to 320 feet will be allowed near the planned light rail station, which opens in 2021. Heights would then taper to as low as 75 and 55 feet.
