Seattle-based Central Co-op has found a new location for its Tacoma grocery: 4502 N. Pearl St., which is currently home to Bargain World. The co-op opened a Tacoma store in 2011, but it closed last year. The new site is in West End, close to the ferry landing and Point Defiance Park. The store will have a large deli and a community room. The opening day hasn't been set, but the co-op plans to hire 35 people for the store. Central Co-op's flagship store is at 16th and Madison on Capitol Hill, where it's two years into a 20-year lease. The grocer recently abandoned plans for a store at Capitol Hill Station. It has over 14,500 active members.
