Ballard site to get 150 SEDUs

SEATTLE — The Mac's Upholstery site, at 5011 15th Ave. N.W. in Ballard, sold for $2.2 million in March. Now the owner, Ponte LLC, and Hybrid Architecture have filed an early plan for an apartment building with 150 small efficiency dwelling units, or SEDUs.

The 9,607-square-foot site is on the southwest corner of 15th and Northwest 51st street, opposite the Brown Bear Car Wash. It is zoned to 65 feet, so a six- or seven-story building is likely.
