First Light topped out in October.

First Light, a new luxury mixed-use residential tower from Canadian developer Westbank, is expected to open at 2000 Third Ave. later this year. The 47-story project topped out in October and is currently pre-selling some of its 459 condominium units.

The developer on Monday announced that the penthouse unit will now come with a unique add-on; a bespoke McClaren Elva, designed especially for the First Light penthouse.

The supercar will have a one-of-a-kind exterior and interior designed for the penthouse owner by James Cheng of James K.M. Cheng Architects, which is the architect of record for First Light.

The penthouse is located on the 45th floor of the development. It is 2,000 square feet and has three bedrooms. The unit boasts floor-to-ceiling windows, a 500-square-foot wrap-around balcony and a custom chandelier by glass artists John Hogan and Bec Brittain..

A McLaren Elva, like the one pictured, will be craned onto the development’s rooftop pool deck on Friday.

Westbank values the penthouse package (including the custom McClaren) at $5.1 million.
A 2023 Elva comes with a price tag of $1.7 million.

A different McClaren Elva on Friday is slated to be raised 450 feet in the air, via a crane, to the top of First Light and parked on the development's signature rooftop pool deck. It will remain there until 5:30 p.m. before being craned back down to the street. The supercar's rise is slated to start at 10:30 a.m. (Editor's note: the event has since been canceled due to wind warnings, with a new date TBA).

McLaren says the Elva is one of the lightest road cars ever made. It weighs all of 2,798 pounds.

First Light is expected to open later this year. In addition to the condos, it will have street-level retail — including three restaurants and a coffee shop — and six floors of office space. There will also be 373 more traditional parking spaces in an eight-level underground garage.

Six of First Light's condominiums are currently listed for sale. Doug Sonnenberg of Realogics Sotheby's International Realty has the listings. The penthouse is not currently listed on the brokerage's website.

The First Light project team also includes MG2, executive architect, Build Group, general contractor; Revery Architecture, interior design; PFS Studio, landscape architect; Glotman Simpson, structural engineer; KPFF, civil engineer; Integral, mechanical engineer; GeoEngineers, geotechnical engineer; Nemetz S/A & Associates, electrical engineer; and RDH, envelope.
