The Seattle apartment market has enough vacant units that Seattle entrepreneur Dominic Canterbury thinks landlords might be willing to barter to fill them up.
Canterbury is CEO of Dibspace, an online market where people trade goods and services using “dibits” rather than dollars. Landlords may be skeptical of the idea, but Canterbury says for a building with vacancies “it's a really good deal.” He has several landlords who are interested to see how they could trade dibits for any number of services ranging from landscaping to masonry.
