Project description: The Tolt Pipeline is a project that will provide water for more citizens from the Snoqualmie River. The Western Segment involves furnishing and installing a steel pipeline varying in diameter from 60 to 81 inches, and the pipeline length is six miles.

The project includes construction of two line valve stations, air valve stations, blowoff stations, a cathodic protection system, crossings, landscaping, wetland restoration, several road crossings, numerous sections of local utility replacements and extensions, and a patrol/maintenance road with detention facilities.

The city considers giving the community affected by

the pipeline a pro-active role as important as the actual construction. Much of the pipeline will run through Redmond, the Puget Power right-of-way and through people's backyards. Representatives from the city held meetings with citizens, trail associations, biking groups, and the neighbors of the new pipeline to ensure the community that the construction would infringeas little as possible on the surrounding natural environment.

When the project has been completed, the areas under construction will be totally reconstructed, which will involve replanting the construction zone and restoring horse and bike trails.
