Safeco Field's roof structure is movable to create an open air atmosphere.
Project description: A state-of-the-art Major League Baseball stadium with retractable roof, 47,100 seats and 68 luxury suites. The playing field is natural grass with an underground heating system to help compensate for shade and low levels of direct sunlight.

Address: 151 S. Royal Brougham Way, Seattle.
Current Cost: $498.4 million.
Start of construction: March 1997.
Expected completion date: July 15, 1999.
