Project description: The Fisheries Building is a new facility for the School of Fisheries. The building is a three-story, 120,000-square- foot concrete frame building, clad with brick veneer and a glass curtain wall. There is one level below grade. The Fisheries Building will house administrative offices, research laboratories, laboratory support spaces, classrooms and a 150-seat auditorium. An exterior courtyard includes colored concrete paving and landscaping.

The Oceanography Building is a new facility for the School of Oceanography. The building is a five-story, 106,000-square-foot structural steel frame building, clad with metal and glass curtain wall. There is one level below grade. The Oceanography Building will house administrative offices, research laboratories, laboratory support spaces, apparatus assembly and testing areas and equipment staging areas, seminar and conference rooms.

Both buildings will be served by an extension of the university's utility system, accessed by underground tunnels. Portions of this tunnel were constructed as a part of this project and connected to tunnel work completed under a separate project. Building systems include special laboratory utilities distribution, an exhaust system for chemical fume hoods, and communication wiring in addition to normal mechanical and electrical systems.
