Alternative Bid Project 6 - Police West Precinct and 911 Communications Center
Project description: The new Seattle Police West Precinct Station and Communications Center will serve a number of purposes, including the various functions of the Seattle Police Department's West Precinct Station, as well as housing the 911 emergency call takers facility for the city. The communications center will also serve as the hub of the city's extensive internal communications infrastructure.
The facility is designed to maintain its functionality after a significant earthquake. This means that the structure is significant for this size building, the internal components of the building all require extensive support mechanisms, and there are a number of backup systems that will allow the facility to continue operation even if outside services such as power are unavailable.
