WASHINGTON (AP) — The National Park Service says the elevator at the Washington Monument is working again, even though the cause of the most recent outage hasn't been determined.
The park service said in a news release Wednesday morning that the monument was to open on time at 9 a.m. It closed Tuesday afternoon when the elevator stopped about halfway up the 555-foot obelisk, forcing a few dozen people to walk down hundreds of steps.
