After Hours: Famed R&B singer at Jazz Alley in June

Lisa Fischer was one of several singers profiled in the Oscar-winning documentary film “Twenty Feet From Stardom.”

SEATTLE — Grammy and Oscar-winning American R&B singer Lisa Fischer and her band Grand Baton will perform June 2-5 at Jazz Alley, doing six shows over four nights.

Fischer's name may not be familiar but you have probably heard her dynamic voice hundreds of times, singing on classic hits such as the Rolling Stones' “Gimmie Shelter” and Tina Turner's “Proud Mary.” She was one of several backup singers profiled in the Oscar-winning documentary feature “Twenty Feet From Stardom.”

Jazz Alley says Fischer is a music industry legend touring with her own show for the first time. She will revisit iconic songs that make us dance, laugh, cry and think.

Fischer's band is Jean-Christophe Maillard (aka Grand Baton) as music director/shaman, guitarist and arranger. Thierry Arpino plays drums and percussion. The bass player is Aidan Carroll.

Tickets and information are at www.jazzalley.com
