Budinger & Associates, a geotechnical and material testing firm, is celebrating its 20th year. The company provides full geotechnical and subsurface exploration, environmental assessment and construction testing services. Budinger & Associates offices are located in Spokane.
Robert Nelson has been promoted to president of Conductive Rubber Technologies, Inc. (CRT). Nelson joined CRT in 1995 as vice president of engineering. CRT is a supplier of rubber keypads, keyboards, and keypad assemblies, providing engineering, design, and customer services for their custom products which are manufactured domestically in Asia. Offices are located in Bothell, Washington.

William D. Goodwin has been elected to the board of directors of Reid Middleton, Inc. As a principal and the director of the firm's surface transportation division, Goodwin oversees the marketing, planning, engineering and management of transportation projects for streets, highways and non-motorized facilities. Since joining the firm in 1989, Goodwin has managed projects for local agencies including Tukwila, SeaTac, Monroe, Lynnwood, Island County, Skagit County and Snohomish County. He is currently managing the design of the Canyon Road improvements for Ellensburg and the I-5/196th St. Westside Improvements for Lynnwood.
Shoou-Yih Jean has transferred to Berger/ABAM from the company's affiliate office, Louis Berger & Associates, Inc., as project engineer. He has over 15 years of experience with the civil and structural design of transportation facilities, including extensive work on the Illinois Department of Transportation's bridges, interchanges and roadways. Janice Zahn returned to Berger/ABAM in February of this year from Trus Joist MacMillan in Boise. She has nine years of civil and structural engineering experience, including three years with Berger/ABAM. Recently she was promoted to senior engineer. Her work focuses on structural design of engineering for waterfront and transportation structures. Chris Cornell joined Berger/ABAM in March of this year as senior engineer with seven years of experience in the civil and structural design of transportation, waterfront and industrial facilities. He specializes in seismic analysis, retrofit design, and new design of concrete and steel bridge structures. Cornell comes to Berger/ABAM from ACF Kaiser/Tudor Engineering. Ginny Edwards joined the firm in March of this year as a word processing operator. She previously worked for Heritage Enterprises.
Yost Grube Hall Architecture (YGH) has hired four designers: Jamin Aasum brings three years of experience to YGH and currently is assistant designer on the Seattle University Law School project. Prior to joining YGH, Aasum worked at BOORA Architects and received his bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Oregon. Peter Horne, a graduate from the University of Oregon's School of Architecture, has joined YGH as designer. Experienced in 3-D computerized imagery and modeling, Horne is contributing to Our Savior's Lutheran Church project in Lake Oswego and the PacifiCorp Business Center project. Andrew Schilling has joined YGH as designer. A recent Penn State graduate with one year of experience, Schilling is working on the University of Oregon Law School project. YGH has also added John Feit to its design staff. With a bachelor's degree in design from the University of Florida and a master's in architecture from the University of Virginia, Feit also brings with him three years of experience. Current project work includes the PacifiCorp Business Center.
Dana Reames has joined the marketing department at Fletcher Farr Ayotte (FFA). Dana has an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis and brings eight years of marketing experience to FFA. She will focus on developing higher education, office building and multi-family housing projects. Cary Dasenbrock has joined FFA's design staff. Cary received a Master of Arts in Spiritual Traditions and Ethics and has 11 years professional experience. He has designed a number of hotel and recreation projects, as well as retail and office buildings, and is currently working on renovation of the Old Oregon Hotel in McMinniville, a mixed use project in Portland's River District, and the Running Y Ranch Resort in Klamath Falls. Andy Kraus has joined the architectural staff. He has 9 years experience and is currently working on new post offices for the US Postal Service in Redmond and Salem, as well as the Running Y Ranch.
Frank Lang has joined Ayers Professional Group Inc. (APG) as a survey technician. Lang most recently worked as consultant to developers. His responsibilities include project management and support for short and long plats. Erin Beam has joined APG as a survey technician. He most recently worked as a survey technician for Larry Steele and Associates. His responsibilities include research, crew set up, drafting and coordination of projects. Brenda Elder has joined APG as office manager. Elder recently worked as office manager of the Tacoma branch of David Evans, Inc.
Environmental Compliance Solutions, Inc. (ECS) and Asbestos Administrative Services have joined Shapiro and Associates, Inc. to form the ECS division, offering asbestos, lead, PCB and UST services, training and products. Paul W. Jackson will serve as ECS division manager and will provide environmental oversight services, J. Michael Harris will be responsible for industiral hygiene and technical services, and Dale E. Mirenda will provide computer services and field support. Current projects include: U.S. postal facilities asbestos and lead abatement management, U.S. Navy boiler plant demolition monitoring and housing asbestos abatement monitoring, lead paint abatement consulting and project management in Alaska, and the development of a hazard communications program for a California college.
