Hornall Anderson Design Works

Hornall Anderson Design Works (HADW) has recently acquired an array of new local, national, and international clientele. HADW will do work for Birley's, a gourmet sandwich company based in London; Cascadian Farm, an organic food grower and manufacturer; Bath & Body Works, a retailer of natural and healthy products for personal care; AirTouch Cellular, provider of cellular and PCS services; Allaire, an Internet software firm; and Picture Vision, a provider of digital imaging through the Internet.

AdCorp

Redmond-based AdCorp has hired Mark LaFond as production manager and Pamela Ridgway as account executive. LaFond will oversee scheduling and quality control in the company's design, photography, electronic pre-press and printing facility. Ridgway will over see client services for the company.

Hammerquist & Saffel

Hammerquist & Saffel Creative Services, a Seattle-based agency, has picked up four new clients. Joining forces with H & S will be companies Cascade Clear, Cascade Designs, Milgard Window and Mission Ridge ski area.

Color Marketing Group

Color Marketing Group's (CMG) Fall International Conference, "Color Passages", will be held in Seattle, November 3-5. Members will participate in cooperative Color Workshops where Color Direction will be forecast for products appearing in 1999's Contract/Commercial markets -- Retail, Hospitality, Office and Health Care. CMG is a not-for-profit, international association of color design professionals, whose members forecast Color Directions one to three years in advance for manufactured products in all industries.

Selpeco Resources

Selpeco Resources, a Kirkland-based project management firm, has formed the new division, Streamline Network Resources (SNR). The division will be headed by Stephen Laccinole, formerly a project manager with Selpeco, and Mark Olson, formerly a certified professional systems engineer with Microsoft. SNR will provide network and computer system management services specifically to small and medium sized businesses as well as clients of the parent company.

Hedges & Roth

Hedges & Roth Engineering, Inc., has hired KokWah Tung as design engineer in its Bellevue office. Tung has 14 years of experience in civil engineering, specializing in general civil engineering, transportation and water resource engineering for the Washington State Department of Transportation, in the Eastern United States and in Malaysia and Brunei.

PAE

Barbara Hamilton has joined PAE Consulting Engineers, Inc. as a lighting designer. Hamilton recently earned her masters of science degree in lighting at the Lighting Research Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Her current projects include Label Graphics and the Portland International Airport.

Entranco

Kevin Hinckley has joined Entranco as a structural engineer. Hinkley brings 11 years of expertise in the design of bridges and other transportation facilities. Currently, he is the project engineer for the structural design of a 200-foot-long bridge associated with improvements to 142nd Avenue East in Sumner. Jeff Faunce has joined Entranco's construction services unit, and will provide construction management for roadway design projects. His experience includes supervising construction staff, and managing and coordination construction sites. He has provided construction management services for East Marginal Way and the 51st Street Bridge, both located in Tukwila, and for NE Andresen Road, as part of the firm's on-call construction management services agreement with Clark County. Joe Willis and Jim Huber have joined Entranco's surveying staff. Willis is a party chief with experience in Global Positioning Systems (GPS), construction staking, boundary and topographic surveying. His project work at Entranco includes construction staking services for Quadrant Willows Corporate Center in Redmond, and providing horizontal and vertical control for aerial mapping of Capital Lake in Olympia. Huber, a registered Land-Surveyor-in-Training, has specialized experience in construction staking, survey field calculation, and boundary and topographic surveys and mapping. While at Entranco, he has participated in several projects including: the 51st Avenue South Bridge in Tukwila; a new watermain along East Marginal Way in Tukwila; and Brighton's Landing and Belvedere Park Residential Development in King County. Angel Wilcox, a registered Engineer-in-Training, comes to Entranco's environmental services unit after an internship with the City of Tukwila's Public Works Department. Since joining the firm, she has worked on a variety of civil and environmental projects including designing the pipe alignment and capacity for drainage improvements associated with the widening of SR 99 in Lynnwood, and providing design services for the reclamation of an abandoned gravel pit for stormwater management use in Pierce County. Barbara Alder brings four years of experience to Entranco's accounting department, where she will be responsible for client invoicing and assist with payroll. She previously worked as accountant for SVR Design Company where she acted as the firm's bookkeeper/office manager.

SDA

The Society of Design Administration (SDA) will review "Working with Your Graphic Designer" in a dinner presentation by Ted Leonhardt, president of The Leonhardt Group. Participants will gather at Umberto's, 100 South King Street, at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $25 for members and $30 for guests.
