Bumgardner

Sam M. Miller has rejoined The Bumgardner Architects after a year in the Solomon Islands as a Peace Corps volunteer teaching math and carpentry at a remote vocational schools. He is currently working on the renovation of Balmer Hall at the University of Washington. Lora Hammersmith as joined Bumgardner, and is currently at work on the design of the new Sound Mind and Body Health Club in Fremont and Tarragon Village, a mixed-use project on the Sammamish Plateau. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, and her work has included published photography and research and model-building. Bryan Fish has joined the firm to concentrate on retail and residential projects. He has received the Charles E. Peterson prize for recording historic buildings and was nominated for the Edward Earl Award for Excellence in Design for a Chicago office building.

D'Amato Conversano

Richard L. Hemmen has joined D'Amato Conversano, Inc. as a structural engineer and project manager with a specialty in seismic evaluation and design. Among the projects he is currently managing are Microsoft's Overlake Archives, a Yakima Safeway addition, Trinity Life Center in Sacramento and an addition to the Prudential Center in Bellevue.

RSP/EQE

Jack Wiggins has named an associate at RSP/EQE. He is a project manager and structural engineer who specializes in seismic analysis and risk assessment as well as design for renovations, historic preservation and new structures.

PN&D

Alan Findlay has joined Peratrovich Nottingham & Drage (PN&D) and is currently completing his master's degree in the structural and geotechnical engineering departments of the University of Washington. At PN&D, he is at work on the Edmonds Marina Reconstruction project for the Port of Edmonds and the False Island Dock project for the City of Craig, Alaska.

HDR

Dale Muellerleile has joined HDR Engineering, Inc. as a senior project manager in the transportation section. His experience includes project management and design of transportation facilities for commuter railroads, light rail transit systems, high speed rail and freight lines. He has used his experience in the design of the St. Louis light rail system and improvements for Amtrak's Northeast corridor. Gregory Hannan has joined HDR as a roadway engineer in the company's Seattle office. His experience includes right-of-way and alignments, paving, drainage, site preparation and utility plans.

Bush Roed & Hitchings, Inc.

John Weed sas been promoted to assistant engineering division manager at Bush Roed & Hitchings, Inc. He joined the firm in 1984, and is currently supervising projects for the Highlands Campus, a 65-acre commercial development in Bothell; five Safeway stores around the Puget Sound and several Boston Market projects.

FFA

Fletcher Farr Ayotte (FFA) of Portland has added six new members to the professional staff. Karyn Goodfriend, a registered architect in California, is currently working on the Portland Public Schools capital improvement program and will soon begin work on the Oregon State Library renovation. Stewart Thompson, who specializes in housing design, is now project designer for the Village at Lovejoy Fountain. Elmira Serdarevic Haracic, a graduate of Sarajevo School of Architecture, is currently working on the renovation of the Salem Rail Depot for the Oregon Department of Transportation. Kevin Cavenaugh, a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, is at work on the Jefferson High School renovation for Portland Public Schools. Two interns have also been added to the staff: Bjorn Clouten, who is currently working on the Orenco Station project, and Lance Hastings, who is working on the Portland Public Schools project.

Walker & Associates

Greg Stebens has rejoined Walker & Associates as a photogrammetrist and stereo compiler. He is at work on compilation for the City of Renton. Mariless Tolentino has also joined the firm as a stereo compiler. Her current projects include a Jackson, Wyoming project and the Hanford 200 area.

Washington Sign

Robert "Bob" Morgan III has been promoted to president of Washington Sign Company. Washington Sign, located in Redmond, specializes in screen printing, anagraph sign making, and graphic layout and design.

Esterline Technologies

Esterline Technologies, a Bellevue-based manufacturer of engineered products for commercial aircraft, aerospace and defense industries, has appointed Jim Cich as group executive.
