Team Design

Dan Rogers, a corporate branding specialist, has joined the Seattle design firm of Team Design.

Western Washington University

Western Washington University's Western Foundation, the university's fund-raising arm, has announced its recipients for "Volunteers of the Year". Russel Wilson, managing partner of Bellingham office of Moss Adams certified public accountants, was recognized as alumni volunteer; Robert Helsell, president of Wilder Construction and member of both the Western Board of Trustees and Western Foundation Board of Directors, community volunteer; and Kathleen Kitto, chair of the engineering technology department, campus volunteer.

Glumac

Glumac International has added three new employees to its Portland office: Lee Fleming, David Keys and Alan Hines. Fleming is a senior electrical project manager and will lead electrical system design for health care facilities. Keys is a CAD designer and is providing HVAC design and drafting. Hines is a CAD operator.

Conference on environmental education set

STANWOOD -- The Environmental Education Association of Washington will have its seventh annual conference May 16-18 at the Warm Beach Conference Center in Stanwood. The theme of this year's conference is "Opening Windows of Opportunity." The conference is designed to help educators promote excellence in environmental education. Dr. Robert Pyle, a Washington naturalist and a world authority on butterflies, will speak on "Nature Study and the Extinction of Experience." Anne Camozzi, president of the Toronto environmental consulting firm Ecologic & Associates, will speak on "The Role of Education in the New Economy." The conference also will include environmental education awards, an auction, exhibits, field trips and live musical performances. Officials to speak on air pollution control

SEATTLE -- Two officials from the Puget Sound Air Pollution Control Agency (PSAPCA) will speak on "Air Pollution in the Puget Sound Region: Past, Present and Future" at 7 p.m. April 30 at the new REI store in Seattle. The speakers will be Jim Nolan, PSAPCA's director of compliance, and Dave Kircher, PSAPCA's manager of engineering. They will allow time for discussion with members of the audience. Chase Bobko

Chase Bobko Inc. has been selected by the Washington State Attorney General's Office and a consortium of 9 other state's attorney general offices to provide computerized coding and document management for part of an estimated 25 million pages of evidence in the states' lawsuit against the tobacco industry. In addition to litigation support, the Seattle-based company provides services in software development, information design and management, Web content preparation and interactivity and Web databases.

Hansen Design

Hansen Design Company, Seattle graphic design firm, has added Applied Microsystems to its account list. Hansen Design will assess and implement company-wide graphic standards for Applied Microsystems as well as redesign existing marketing and promotional materials and the company's Web site. Ernst & Young, a Big 6 accounting practice, has chosen Hansen Design as its consultant for a new strategic alliance with Microsoft. The alliance is creating a "global development center" called Entyron which will combine Microsoft's products with Ernst & Young's management consulting and custom application development capabilities. The center will be owned and operated by Ernst & Young and will be located near Microsoft in Bellevue.
