Seattle's Lease Crutcher Lewis has added three new employees and promoted an existing worker. Reid Bullock has been promoted from project engineer to project manager. New employees include Ted Haskell in the accounting department and project engineers John Baginley and Shari Leaming.
TUKWILA -- International Business Communications (IBC) will have its second annual International Conference on Phytoremediation Wednesday and Thursday at Doubletree Suites, 16500 Southcenter Parkway, Tukwila. BOTHELL -- EMCON, a full-service environmental consulting firm based in San Mateo, Calif., has announced the addition of several new staff members in its Bothell office. Toni Hardesty has been hired as program manager in the company's facilities services division. Kent Wiken has been added as supervising geotechnical engineer in the company's solid waste services division. Aaron Moldver and Pete McKillop have been hired as environmental technicians in the firm's site remediation services division. Gerry Opdahl has been named West coast construction operations manager. Opdahl will operate out of Graham, Wash. EMCON has 40 offices nationwide, including two Washington offices in Bothell and Spokane.
BELLEVUE -- PTI Environmental Services has announced the addition of two new staff members. Craig Wilson has joined PTI's Bellevue office as an information specialist. Wilson has more than 20 years experience in the fields of forestry science and library and information science. He also has experience starting and developing Web sites. Timothy Iannuzzi, a biologist with more than nine years experience, is a now a principal scientist in PTI's Metro-Washington, D.C. office. A member of The Failure Group, PTI is headquartered in Bellevue and has branch offices in six other U.S. cities. The firm provides environmental science and engineering services to industry.

The Fannie Mae Foundation has named Larry Taylor, deputy director of the Department of Housing and Human Services for the City of Seattle, as one of 25 community leaders from around the country chosen as a 1997 Fannie Mae Foundation Fellow for the Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. The Fellowship program offers an intensive, three-week experience designed to prepare participants for increased responsibilities, stimulate interest in new management ideas and techniques, and develop relationships among public-sector colleagues across the country.

David Vogel has been named multimedia account executive for Chase Bobko, a Seattle information design company. Vogel will head the company's sales within Microsoft and other high technology companies who have data intensive Web sites. George Hein and Catherine Hunter have been named director and assistant director, respectively, at Virginia Mason Medical Center's Marketing Resources and Communications Department.

Julie Wilson has been named principal and Portland office manager for GeoEngineers. She has 16 years of experience in site investigation and environmental risk assessment. Wilson serves as a member of the Washington State Department of Ecology Science Advisory Board and has been very involved in Ecology's Interim Policy for Total Petroleum hydrocarbon cleanup.
Michael Romine has been named principal with Stickney & Murphy Architects. He joined the firm as an associate in 1985. His current projects include the Miller Park Apartments, a 12-unit multi-family complex for the Capitol Hill Housing Improvement Program and the Kerner-Scott House, a 40-unit special needs housing project now under construction for the Downtown Emergency Center.
Jeff Creagan has joined Andersen Bjornstad Kane Jacobs (ABKJ) as a project engineer. He is currently working on the 44-story Buendia Square multi-purpose building in Makati, Philippines. Dihong Shao has joined the firm as a project engineer. With 13 years of professional experience, he holds degrees from the University of Shanghai and from the University of Idaho. Dihong is currently working on the Two Rivers Correctional Facility in Oregon. Steven Kelly and Scott Kuebler have joined the firm as Engineers-in-Training. They are both recent gradates of Washington State Universtiy and hold master's degrees in civil engineering. Juliet Zhu is ABKJ's new account receivables clerk.
Brett Conway has been promoted to director of architecture at Emick Howard & Seibert, Inc., architecture, space planning and interior design. Previously a senior project architect with RTG Partners in Austin, Texas, Conway joined the firm one and a half years ago. His recent projects include Fox Sports Northwest, Optiva Corporation, several credit unions, KIRO-AM radio and various developer projects.
Cindy Baker has joined Berger/ABAM engineers as planning and environmental project manager. Most recently, Baker served as department manager at URS Greiner, where she managed a team of scientists, engineers and planners responsible for natural resources programs. In addition, Baker served as Alaska activity manager for a multi-faceted U.S. Navy environmental and land use contract that included base closure assistance. The firm has also hired Charlene Driver as an administrative clerk.
Nathan Clark Corser, Clint Cook, Michael Payne, Richard Rapp and Chuck Salvador have joined Thompson Vaivoda & Associates (TVA) of Portland. With over 20 years experience in architecture, Salvador is project manager of construction documents and quality control for the Nike World Campus expansion. Corser joins the firm as project manager for the 28-story Fox Tower. Payne is currently at work on the new research and development center and office buildings for Nike, Inc. Cook has experience in detention facilities, and Rapp in medical and education buildings. Both are working on the Nike project.
Stephen Lewotsky has joined the Bellevue office of W&H Pacific Inc. as a senior planner. He has worked as a city planner for Grant's Pass, Ore., and as zoning coordinator with Koll Telecommunications Services. His responsibilities at W&H Pacific include planning and zoning services for wireless telecommunications providers. Mark Case has joined the firm as a senior CAD technician and will work on design and layout of grading, roadway plans and underground piping. Michele L. Kophs has been promoted to marketing coordinator at W&H Pacific.
