Whit Hamlin has been appointed project manager at Tully's Coffee. Hamlin will oversee architects, general contractors and vendors involved with remodeling, construction and design of new Tully's stores in the Puget Sound area. He also will be in charge of initial renovations of the company's prospective new headquarters and roasting plant, and development of kiosks, including semi-permanent and mobile versions. Prior to joining Tully's, Hamlin worked for GLY Construction. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from the University of Washington.
KJM & Associates has several new hires and promotions at its Bellevue headquarters. Aniekan Usoro is a senior project engineer, George Banning has joined as a construction manager/senior inspector, and Scott Battrick is an estimator. Promotions include: Duane Mask to vice president of the Northwest Region; Sandy Mask to senior vice president; Becky Davie to vice president of marketing; Shelby Clayton to marketing/public relations coordinator; and Lourdes Gomez to corporate administrator. Usoro has over 15 years of cost estimating, contract management and administration experience for commercial and industrial projects. Banning has over 25 years of construction management and inspection experience in civil, industrial and commercial construction. Battrick has eight years of experience specializing in cost estimating and cost management analysis, and over 14 years of experience in the construction industry. Duane Mask has been with the firm for 10 years and is responsible for general management, business development and client relations for the Northwest. Sandy Mask has been with the firm for 11 years and is responsible for general management, business development and client relations for the Southern United States. She also is the national director for transit projects, and is responsible for developing transit-related projects throughout the United States. Davie has been with the firm for four years and directs all corporate marketing and public relations activities. Clayton has four years of marketing, public relations, business development and public affairs experience. Gomez has six years of office administration and management experience. KJM, a national project and construction management consulting firm, has offices in Dallas, Phoenix, Portland, San Diego, Spokane, Englewood, Colo., and Irvine, Calif.
Seattle's Lease Crutcher Lewis has hired four technical professionals. Michele Clute has rejoined the company as a senior estimator after spending a year away. She previously worked for 10 years with the contractor and is now providing estimating and other preconstruction services on jobs like the Lakeside High School Ackerley Athletic Center renovation. Doug Norem has joined as an estimator and project engineer after having interned with the company for the past year. He recently graduated from the University of Washington with bachelor's degrees in construction management and architecture. Paula Sword has become a project engineer after spending 12 years as a superintendent, foreman and carpenter. She recently completed the UW's construction management certificate program and is working with the company's Special Projects Division on a tenant improvement for Williams Communications. Robert Brison is a project engineer who joined the company with 25 years of construction and facilities management experience. He previously worked for the UW and WA Botting, and is a graduate of Stanford University.
Hansen Design Co., a Seattle-based graphic design firm, announced the addition of K. Anderson. Anderson joins the firm as office manager and will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and design team assistance.

The national Institute of Real Estate Managers has announced that Everett-based Coast Management Co., has been awarded the Accredited Management Organization designation. This recognizes property management firms that meet the highest standards of education, experience, staff development and other measures. Coast, which has offices in Bellevue and Boise, Idaho, manages a portfolio of 8,000 multifamily units and 1.5 million square feet of commercial and retail properties.
Tarragon, a Seattle-based developer of commercial, industrial and mixed-use space, has hired Garret Harper as development manager for industrial properties. He is a civil engineer. Previously, Garret was with AHBL as a consulting engineer involved in permitting, design and construction of industrial properties.
Base-Line, an Auburn-based provider of graphic products, has acquired the graphic arts business of Jomac, Inc. The acquisition encompasses Jomacs complete line of seamless dampening covers, pressroom chemicals, pressroom gloves and spill control products.

Torsten Lienau, an engineer with Entranco, recently passed the Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (P.T.O.E.) examination, making Entranco the only consulting engineering firm in Washington state to have a staff member with this certification. Lienau, who is a registered professional engineer in the states of Washington and Oregon, has more than seven years of traffic and transportation engineering experience. He served as project manager for a two-mile corridor analysis of State Route 285 in downtown Wenatchee. Lienau is also the task leader for the traffic analysis related to the redevelopment of the downtown Bellevue Transportation Center for Sound Transit. Entranco is a Bellevue-based engineering firm with offices in Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Utah.
The Portland office of KPFF Consulting Engineers has hired several new employees. Barbara Erickson recently joined the firm as marketing assistant. Michael Ottensmann has been hired as a senior project manager in the civil division. Ottensmann is currently working on the Bureau of Water Works flexible services contract, the Duncan Dam design and the Beverly Beach and Bullards Beach Membrane Filtration Water Plants. His past experience includes working as the director of public works for the city of Oconto, Wis., and six years' experience as a consultant in Stuttgart, Germany. Andrew Haliburton has been hired as a civil engineer/project manager in the civil division. Haliburton comes to KPFF from South Africa. His experience includes public participation, working with private landowners and permit processing with governmental agencies. He has worked on strategic route planning for long-distance gas and crude oil transmission pipelines and has prepared studies for regional authorities on the privatization of public utilities. His current work includes the East Columbia Lombard connector reconnaissance study, the Lake Oswego East End redevelopment project and the Central Eastside development opportunity strategy project. Based in Seattle, KPFF is a structural and civil engineering firm with seven offices nationwide.
Martha Gillis and Nelson Chao have joined Berryman & Henigar as plans examiners in the community development and building safety division. They will be responsible for plan review and inspection for the firm's municipal Pacific Northwest clients. Gillis has 15 years of experience, which included residential and commercial plan review, with the Kitsap County Building division. She most recently was the building official for the city of Shoreline. Chao has more than 18 years of experience as a structural engineer on a broad range of commercial and industrial projects. He worked on the police station renovations in Mount Vernon, a high school and elementary school in Forks and a cooling tower steel platform at Lloyd Center in Portland. Berryman & Henigar's services include civil and environmental engineering, community development, public finance and management, environmental planning, construction management and surveying. Based in San Diego, the firm has a local office in Seattle.
Ben Dayot has recently been promoted to associate at Arai/Jackson Architects & Planners in Seattle. Dayot has been at Arai/Jackson for more than 13 years and is known for his ability as an illustrator and artist. His most recent work includes the Tacoma Dome Station Phases I and II and various projects at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Chris Dowell has been promoted to associate at Arai/Jackson. Dowell has been with the firm for more than eight years. He has been project architect on a number of projects at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. His most recent project is design of the new toll plaza and administrative offices at the airport. Jeffrey Hamlett has also been promoted to associate at the firm. Jeffrey has been with Arai/Jackson for more than 12 years. His recent experience includes work as project manager on the Stevens Elementary School renovation and addition. Arai/Jackson Architects & Planners focuses on institutional and civic projects, which include city halls, transit/transportation facilities, libraries and community recreation centers. Its services include architecture, urban planning and design, interior space planning and design and construction management.
Tracy Black has been promoted to director of marketing at Otak. Black has been a member of the board of directors for the Seattle chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services for the past three years. Gary Hartnett has been promoted to a principal of Otak. Hartnett is currently working on the redevelopment of King Street Station and the final station and urban design for the Tacoma Light Rail line and four stations on the Central Link Light Rail line for Sound Transit. Tom Walsh, a civil engineer, has been promoted to director of engineering for Otak's Vancouver, Wash., office. Walsh is currently managing several roadway projects in Clark County. Based in Lake Oswego, Ore., Otak is a architecture and engineering firm with a local office in Kirkland. Otak offers services in transportation and growth management, urban and community design and natural resource management.
The DLR Group has hired several new employees. Rodney Savard joins DLR's electrical engineering group from Cierra Associates. His 20 years of experience include design for industrial, utility and commercial clients. Savard is currently working on the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab and a tenant improvement project for The Boeing Co. Chunyu Fu, a native of China, recently completed his master's degree in architecture from North Carolina State University. His experience includes eight years in retail, office, mixed-use, urban design, housing and industrial projects. Chunyu is working on the Women's Intake Center for the Oregon Department of Corrections. Michael Stevens recently graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor's degree in architecture. He interned at David M. Biagi, Architect; Olson Sundberg; Sherman-Carter-Barnhart; and Morphosis before joining DLR. He is also working on the Women's Intake Center with the Oregon Department of Corrections. Stefan Murr is visiting the firm from Germany for a three-month internship in marketing. Huon Quach, a native of Cambodia, is currently working as an inspector for a Seattle Housing Authority facilities assessment. Zeljko Grahovac, a native of Sarajevo, Bosnia, has worked on reconstruction projects in downtown Sarajevo for the Institute of Urban Planning. Grahovac worked later as operation coordinator for the International Rescue Committee, which supplied water and gas to the war-torn city. After coming to the United States in 1994, Grahovac worked for Milne Construction Co. He is currently working as an inspector for a Seattle Housing Authority facilities assessment.
Shirley Adler has recently joined INCA as a marketing coordinator. Adler was the marketing coordinator for Elcon Associates for the last 14 years. Based in Bellevue, INCA is a civil and structural engineering firm.
