The Traver Company, a graphic design and communications firm, added two members to its Seattle office. John Totten joins the firm as a designer. Totten has experience as both a designer on the corporate level and as an instructor at Ferris State University in Michigan. John Carroll is the new administrative manager.

Otak has added Greg Laird, Kevin Timmins, Orion Ahrensfeld and Adnan Haddad to its engineering department in Kirkland. Laird is a senior project manager with experience evaluating erosion and sedimentation control measures for mining and commercial developments. Timmins is an engineer-in-training. He has a master's degree in environmental engineering pending from Washington State University. Ahrensfeld is a CAD technician. Haddad joins the firm as a civil engineer. He is working on The Uplands Reserve residential development near North Bend.
Marcus Wernli has joined Berger/ABAM Engineers as a project engineer. Wernli's experience includes the application and manufacturing of composite materials in infrastructure; post tensioning and suspension systems in bridge, building and offshore structures; product development and licensing; earthquake engineering; and testing large-scale structures. He is working on the Helix parking garage rehabilitation project for the Port of Seattle. Bryan Gorder has joined the firm as a civil engineering technician. Gorder, who is part of Berger/ABAM's waterfront group, is providing services for the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard dry dock inspection project. Located in Federal Way, Berger/ABAM is a subsidiary of Louis Berger International, an engineering consulting firm based in East Orange, N.J. Berger/ABAM specializes in building, public works, transportation and waterfront projects.
The Portland office of KPFF Consulting Engineers has hired several new employees. Steve Harrison joins KPFF as a civil engineer/project manager in the civil division. Harrison is working on the Kaiser medical office building in Tualatin; improvements to Linnfield College; the Multnomah County correctional facility; and Cascadian Court, a mixed-use, residential/commercial high rise in the Lloyd District. Tom Puttman has been hired as an engineering designer in the civil group. Puttman is a team member on the Classical Chinese Garden project, Millennium Park in Lake Oswego and the athletic and conference centers on the Nike World Campus North Expansion. Michelle Robert is also an engineering designer in the civil group. Robert is a team member on the Saddle Mountain State Park project, the Hilton Tower and the Central Eastside Development Opportunity Strategy project currently under way with the Portland Development Commission. Based in Seattle, KPFF is a structural and civil engineering firm with seven offices nationwide.
Grace Kim joins Jensen/Fey Architecture and Planning as a project architect. Kim was previously employed with the International Masonry Institute and before that with Skidmore Owings & Merrill, both in Chicago. Jensen/Fey Architecture and Planning has two offices in Seattle and one in Sacramento.
Maher Abed has joined Pacific Engineering Design as a senior civil engineer and project manager in charge of civil design for residential and commercial projects. Abed comes to the firm from the city of Pacific, where he was the public works director. Pacific Engineering Design is a civil engineering company based in SeaTac. The firm works on platting for single-family lots, multifamily developments, commercial retail and hotel development.
The Bellevue office of Entranco has recently added several new employees. Amy Auestad, a technical editor, will work on the production and coordination of technical documents for a variety of projects, including water resources and transportation. Joe DaSilva is an administrative assistant for Entranco's construction group. Sam Eliason is a civil engineer with experience in the design of roadway projects. David Policar joins the firm as a civil engineer in the transportation group. He also has experience designing roadway projects. Richard Herrman also joins the transportation group. In addition, he has been hired as a CAD drafter. Cindy Kinsey has been hired as the receptionist for the firm's Bellevue office.
Marc Mizuta, a recent graduate from the University of Washington, is the newest addition to the firm's development group.
Entranco is a Bellevue-based engineering firm with offices in Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Utah.
Ron Hilliard has joined W&H Pacific as a project manager in its Seattle office. Prior to joining W&H Pacific, Hilliard served as project manager with White Shield in Bellevue. Hilliard's experience includes work with the U.S. Forest Service, Department of Defense, Army Corps of Engineers and the Washington State Department of Transportation. W&H Pacific is a planning, engineering and surveying firm based in Bothell, with offices in Portland, Bend, Klamath Falls and Boise.
RSP/EQE has added several new employees. Dan Fenton has joined the firm as a senior project manager. Fenton's experience includes experience in seismic upgrades and new design of commercial, industrial, civic and military structures. Myint Lwin has joined the firm as senior bridge consultant. Adam Ludwig, senior project engineer, Anuz Khan, project engineer, and Liu Hong, staff engineer, have joined the design staff. Jun Adar and Brandon Karn are new members of the CAD Team. Wendy Adams is the firm's new office manager.
