Lane has been with McGranahan for seven years and oversees project design and management. Lane will now also oversee human resources.

Larson was an energy technician and intern architect before joining McGranahan. He is working on Kennydale Elementary School for the Renton school district. McGranahan is a regional architectural firm based in Tacoma.

Becksfort works on heating, ventilation and air conditioning for government, education and commercial facilities. He is a graduate of Ohio University with a bachelor's in mechanical engineering. PAE is a mechanical and electrical engineering consulting firm.

Chouinard will work with aviation and marine port clients on transportation engineering and construction. Chouinard has done aviation, traffic impact engineering, and highway and bridge design projects. Kennedy/Jenksis a San Francisco-based engineering and environmental consulting firm with 20 offices.

Berger/Abam Engineers added Terry Paananen to its Seattle office. Paananen has worked in transportation for 28 years. in the planning, design and construction of roadway and bridge projects. Paananen was a local programs engineer for the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Berger/Abam consults on project management, civil and structural engineering, and construction management. Other offices are in Federal Way, Portland and Las Vegas.

Exeltech Consulting hired Debbie Lematta as senior marketer in its Seattle office. Lematta has 20 years experience in Seattle's architectural and engineering community.

At Exeltech, she will develop business for the firm's buildings and facilities division. The company has offices in Olympia, Seattle and Salem, Ore. Its 27 staff provide civil, structural and environmental services.

CDM added three in its Bellevue office: Jennifer L. Strehler, wastewater engineer; Stacey A. Servo, engineer-in-training; Michael Stevens, graphic designer for the Pacific Northwest region.

Strehler has 14 years of experience planning, designing and managing projects, and will be a senior project manager. Servo has a bachelor's in environmental engineering from Montana Tech of the University of Montana and specializes in organic waste management. Stevens has 12 years of experience in marketing and advertising and will manage graphics.

KDF Architecture made Brian Andringa and Dennis Dean principals. Jon Hopwood was promoted to senior associate. Healthcare design expert Andringa is working on Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital and Kittitas Valley Community Hospital. Dean has been a project manager for commercial and institutional projects such as the Yakima County Juvenile Justice Center and middle schools. Hopwood oversees construction administration and contract documents for projects in eastern Washington, and is working on the Grand Meridian Cinema in Ellensburg. KDF is based in Yakima.

Otak made promotions and hired a new project manager.

Joe Simmler was promoted to associate in Kirkland. Simmler is working on stormwater programs using a watershed-based approach for Marysville. Kathy McLean is an associate in Kirkland. McLean was a research contractor at the Department of Energy at Hanford.

Tim Kraft joins Otak's Vancouver office as a project manager in the water and natural resources group. Kraft's expertise is in sanitary sewer master planning, floodplain studies and public works road projects. Ron Kampe was promoted to senior manager in Bend, Ore. He has 38 years of engineering and management experience in public works, transportation and infrastructure.
