McGowan Broz Engineers added Tim Reynolds, Mike Henaby and Jared Brock. Reynolds will manage the mechanical department. Henaby and Brock are mechanical designers. MBEI is an electrical and mechanical engineering firm located in downtown Bellevue.
The Transpo Group, a transportation planning and engineering company, added Patrick Lynch and Fusan Lin to its Kirkland headquarters. Lynch is a senior transportation planner who was with the city of Woodinville. Lin specializes in traffic operations and signal systems design.
Tacoma-based BCRA added Gary Maples to its design team as a project manager and architect. The firm also added graphic designer Danielle Larson, civil engineering technician Danielle Hardy and accounting associate Jan Fisher. In the company's architectural studios, new designers are: Tuan Ngo, Chris Spadafore, Demesio Cedeno, Michelle Howard and Jesus Lugo. Ngo's experience is in construction administration and restaurant design. Spadafore did design and carpentry work. Cedeno is doing a YMCA project in Gig Harbor. Howard managed an apartment building and resort project in Costa Rica. Lugo designed senior housing and hotels. BCRA offers architecture, land use planning, engineering and graphic design services.
Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership recently appointed Allyn Stellmacher design partner in its Seattle office. Stellmacher is leading design of a community hospital for the Franciscan Health System in Gig Harbor, but in his new role, he will also lead projects in ZGF offices in Los Angeles, Portland and Washington, D.C. ZGF also named partners in its Portland office: Mark Foster, Eugene Sandoval and Jan Willemse
Cary Kopczynski & Co., a Bellevue structural engineering firm, named Martin Maingot project manager, Sabet Vallejo, senior engineer and Bhavna Krishan design engineer. Justin Lopez and Chi-ying Wang are CAD drafters. Sherry Elwell is an administrative assistant. Maingot, Lopez and Wang are working on a 51-story tower in Las Vegas. Vallejo is helping with a 19-story multifamily project in Seattle, and Krishan is working on a similar project in Anaheim. Elwell manages correspondence and assists engineering staff.
Seattle-based Weber + Thompson promoted Catherine Benotto, Wolf Saar and Jim Wescott to senior associates. Benotto leads the master planning team and the company's Green Team, which consults on sustainable design projects. Saar oversees mixed-used projects throughout the Seattle/Eastside area. Wescott does design, project management and construction administration. He directs an eduction program taught and attended by employees.
Abacus Engineered Systems recently promoted Greg Livengood. He has 18 years of electrical engineering experience, and will direct engineering teams as well as the company's commissioning group. Erik Stearns was promoted to manager of electrical engineering. He has 14 years of experience in planning, design and construction support. Jordan Lerner will lead business development efforts for the consulting engineering team. Ronald K. Eliason was promoted to mechanical engineering manager. Eliason has worked on healthcare, education and government facilities.
Cormac Deavy, an associate principal in Arup's London office, will relocate to Seattle to lead the Northwest building sector business. Deavy is a structural engineer who joined the engineering and consulting firm in 1988, and has worked on Harvard University's art museums, buildings at Yale and Princeton universities, and the Spire of Dublin, a 393-foot stainless steel monument.
