Hough Beck & Baird

Hough Beck & Baird promoted Jim Howard to principal. Howard has worked on transportation corridors, streetscapes, schools, housing, correctional facilities and university campus master plans. He is lead landscape architect for Lake Washington Technical College, Yakima Avenue downtown streetscape, Oak Harbor Municipal Pier and waterfront access and I-405 Kirkland Stage 1 projects.

Ridolfi

Ridolfi's Seattle office recently hired Kristin Cunningham and Andy Sorter. Cunningham specializes in contaminated site characterization, exposure and toxicity analysis, and environmental pathogens. Sorter, an environmental engineer, will focus on hydraulic analyses and modeling, water quality and treatment, and renewable energy systems. Senior civil engineer Colin Wagoner has been promoted to principal engineer. His technical expertise is in habitat restoration, Superfund investigations, feasibility studies, groundwater studies and remediation projects.

Walker Macy

Walker Macy's Portland office added landscape designer Bhronwhyn Dean. Dean attended Universita di Torino in Turin, Italy. She has experience in commercial landscape and irrigation design, as well as residential landscape design.

Zimmer Gunsul Frasca

Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership added seven to its Seattle office: Barbara Anderson, Brandon Choi, Jeff Dunn and Kathleen McCarthy. Abby Klima, Lauren Walker and Emily Angell are interns. Anderson is a senior medical planner and registered nurse. Choi is working on a cancer center and physicians' office building for the University of North Carolina. Dunn is a recent graduate of Iowa State University. McCarthy graduated from the University of Florida's College of Architecture with a bachelor's in design. Walker is a third-year architecture student at the University of Cincinnati. Klima is studying for a master's in architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design. Angell is working on marketing and urban design.

R. W. Beck

The Denver-based management consulting and engineering firm R. W. Beck promoted three engineers in the Seattle office to senior directors: John Bakken, Steve Baumgart and Mike Giseburt.

Perkins + Will

Perkins + Will added Dan Nelson to its Seattle practice as a project manager. Nelson has 12 years of experience on multi-family housing, retail and commercial office projects. Dan Seng joined as a project architect. He has 11 years of experience, including mixed-use, retail and schools.

Brett Ferger and Nemesio "Meng" Pallasigui joined BLRB as CAD designers. Ferger is working on the new Bow Lake Elementary School for the Highline School District. Pallasigui is working on the addition and modernization of Olympia's Pioneer Elementary School. Michael Rafferty and Drake Joslin joined as architects. Rafferty is part of the Garfield High School project team, designing the physical education/performing arts center addition. Joslin is working on two new elementary schools for the Puyallup School District. Ed Boyd Monson was hired as a specifications writer. He will work on design and documentation products.

Caroline S. Weiss has been named an owner at KPFF. Weiss is managing expansion at the Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver and the University of Washington's Educational Outreach Building, and was project designer for the South Terminal expansion project at Sea-Tac.
