In its Bellevue office, DCI Engineers promoted Paul Rogness and Bruce Zhong to associate, Matt Toton and Jeff Brink to senior project managers, and Steve Edminston, Becky Lee and Andrew Ayling to project managers. Rogness is working on a 2.8-million-square-foot, residential and hotel project in Hollywood, Calif. Zhong is working on a 13-acre office park with three, eight-story buildings and an eight-story parking garage in Bellevue. Toton recently completed work on the 85,000-square-foot remodel of Michael's Toyota in Bellevue, and is currently working on the first two phases of Washington Square, totaling 1.7 million square feet of hotel and condominiums in Bellevue. Brink is working on State Street Condos in Kirkland and Point Edwards Condominiums in Edmonds. Edmiston's projects include a large mixed-use structure in Bellevue and a 60,000-square-foot assisted-living facility in Tacoma. Lee is working on a 214,000-square-foot mixed-use building in Seattle, and a 59,900-square-foot hotel. Ayling is currently working on a 560,000-square-foot multi-family residential project in Portland and a large multi-family residential project in Pasadena.
Jim Spitze recently joined Sparling as contracts manager. Spitze has experience in architecture and engineering management, including professional services contracts. He has taught community college classes.
The Seattle office of Hammond Collier Wade Livingstone recently hired Nic Schmidt. Schmidt is a project engineer who provides engineering support to the Seattle Water Resources Department, assisting with plan reviews, plans and specifications development and cost estimating. Hammond Collier has offices in Seattle, Wenatchee, Lakewood and Omak.
Vern Phillips has been named Pacific Northwest regional manager for Harris & Associates. He is a board member and senior vice president. Phillips has 28 years of experience in civil design, program and project management. He has worked on pipelines, wastewater and potable water facilities, roadways and highways, and is an expert in pipeline trenchless technology. Harris' current projects include the Auburn Third Street grade separation, Sound Transit parking structures/transit centers in Issaquah, Mercer Island and Federal Way, and the city of Shoreline's Aurora Avenue North multi-modal corridor improvement project.

Hammond Collier Wade Livingstone added Brian Coleman and Karen Thach to the Lakewood office. Coleman joined the firm as a project engineer and is working with the civil engineering department on transportation and utility design projects, and construction management and administration. Thach, an administrative assistant, will provide administrative support.
Yost Grube Hall Architecture has made Scott Brown a principal. Brown has been at YGH for 12 years and serves as the firm's director of interior design. Brown has focused on office, commercial and educational interior projects. His recent YGH projects include: M Financial Group's corporate headquarters in the Portland Brewery Blocks, Louisiana Pacific's corporate headquarters in Nashville and ongoing work Vancouver's First Independent Bank. His work at YGH has been recognized with eight IIDA and AIA design awards. Brown has expertise as a real estate advisor and certified LEED design professional.
Trindera Engineering hired Fred Peterson as a senior project engineer. Peterson has 30 years of experience in power distribution and control systems engineering, specializing in industrial, plant maintenance and management of large capital improvement projects. He was previously employed at Boise Cascade Corp., and has worked at the Kaiser Aluminum Trentwood facility.
