Pielow has 23 years of experience and manages special projects involving building code consulting, fire protection engineering, life safety consulting and issues relating to the Americans with Disabilities Act. His current projects include Anchorage Convention Center, Kitsap County Administration Building, Redmond River Park and House of Blues.

Walker Macy has hired Nathan Hilmer as a landscape designer. Hilmer has a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and is currently completing his Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Oregon. His experience includes construction and installation of all elements of residential landscapes, with attention to grading and drainage.

Herrera recently added the following people to the planning group in the Seattle office. Kathryn Seckel is a planner with background in rural, long-range transportation planning and sanitation and environmental projects. She is currently involved in environmental issues related to a state Department of Transportation engineering contract in Tacoma. Julie Anderson has worked as a biologist and environmental scientist for 13 years. She is currently working with the design and planning team for the WSDOT Tacoma contract. Jack Middleton is a project planner with six years experience in environmental review and natural resource management. His areas of technical experience include natural resource economics, environmental law and policy, recreation planning and assessments and forest and land use planning. He is assisting in the WSDOT Tacoma contract and a WSDOT Mount Baker contract.

DKA has added five employees to its staff. Martha Turnbull joined DKA as a project manager. She has 20 years of experience managing design, urban planning and construction projects. Tunrbull is managing two Seattle School District projects — South Shore School, a $59 million pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade facility and South Lake High School, a new $13.5 million alternative high school. Andrea Losekann is a licensed architect in Brazil, with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and Urban Planning from the Ritter dos Reis University in Brazil. She has eight years of experience working on multi-family and single-family housing, health care and commercial projects. She is completing the construction documents for the Asian Counseling and Referral Service building, which will begin construction this fall. Scott Nicholson received his Master of Architecture from the University of New Mexico in 2002. Dylan Glosecki received his Master of Architecture from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in architecture from Clemson University. They are assisting on the schematic design of Phase II of the $36 million Seattle Housing Authority HomeWorks project, which includes the rehabilitation of a total of 21 high-rise residential buildings. Perry Whisenant joins DKA with a background in customer service and office administration.

Parametrix

Chang
Parametrix recently hired Youwei Chang, as senior civil engineer. Chang has 20 years of experience in civil engineering. Projects include I-405 corridor, Alaskan Way Viaduct; State Route 520 HOV widening in Seattle; and Interstate 15/Interstate 80 reconstruction design/build projects in Salt Lake City. At Parametrix, Chang will be working on the SR 520 Bridge replacement and HOV projects as well as the I-5 corridor study.

Schacht Aslani Architects

Intern architect Peter Law and business manger Renae Nelson recently joined Schacht Aslani Architects. Law graduated from Virginia Polytechnic with a master's of architecture degree. He is working on the renovation of the fifth floor of Seattle Central Community College's Broadway Edison Building for the Visual Communications program. Nelson has 21 years of experience in business management for the architecture and engineering industry.

Hart Crowser

New Seattle Hart Crowser staff members include Angie Goodwin, a hydrogeologist who has completed projects involving groundwater movement and computer modeling. She is sampling groundwater for industrial clients. Audra Inglish is an environmental geologist/hydrogeologist who has completed environmental investigation and mapping projects. She is assisting with abandoned mines for the U.S. Department of the Interior and Office of Surface Mining, and on projects for the Port of Seattle. Sarah Upsall is a geotechnical engineer with a seismic engineering background. She is reviewing shoring designs for the Seattle Department of Transportation and is involved with slope stability for the Sea-Tac International Airport third runway and seismic work for a downtown Seattle high rise. New Edmonds staff include Celina Abercrombie, an environmental scientist who is working on wetland projects for several local municipalities and private properties, including habitat restoration and planting for the Port of Everett. Jason Stutes is a Ph.D. candidate marine ecologist with a background in seagrass and estuarine ecology. Stutes is working on the Turnagain Arm project along Cook Inlet in Alaska, for a proposed highway and bridge project.

Trindera Engineering

Trindera Engineering, an electrical and control systems engineering and consulting firm based in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, hired Terrance Hill as quality control director. Hill has 15 years of experience in quality control and management of capital improvement projects, including industrial, manufacturing and facility improvement ventures.
