Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership added four new people to the Seattle office: Connie Holloway, Craig Rizzo, Kim Myran and Elisabeta Curea. Holloway has joined the architectural group as project architect for St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor. Rizzo has joined as an associate partner and designer for St. Anthony Hospital. He worked in ZGF's Los Angeles office for five years, working on projects such as the Whittier Library in California, the Pfizer Research Campus in San Diego, and the Mid-City Exposition Light Rail Transit Project in Los Angeles. Prior to joining ZGF, Rizzo worked on the $600 million Phoenix Convention Center expansion. Myran has 20 years of experience as an architect and interior designer and will work in the Seattle interiors group, serving as project manager for the Microsoft 88 Building. Curea has joined the Seattle architectural group and is working on the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance expansion. She graduated in June from the University of Washington with a bachelor's degree in architecture.

Walker Macy hired Derek Budzik as IT/CAD manager. At University of Oregon, he was an intern and network administrator for the University of Oregon's Center for Advanced Technology in Education, where he specialized in helping students with learning disabilities, and providing technological solutions for local high school students.

KMD Architects

Rubright
KMD Architects announced several senior design and management promotions and new staff. Christopher Rubright has been promoted to director of health care design. Rubright's recent work includes hospitals in Seattle, Mount Vernon and Bremerton, as well as international work. Sean Huang, a KMD board member and architect who has been active in Washington projects, has relocated full-time to Seattle from company headquarters in San Francisco. He is the firm's second corporate director and first board member to be in Seattle. Huang's work includes design for Seattle and San Francisco hospitals, and the Ford Field football stadium in Detroit. Senior associate L.T. Chen is a senior project designer. Chen was lead designer of KMD's Jie Fang News building under construction in Shanghai and other projects in Asia and the United States. The Jie Fang tower was named Office Building of the Future by the leading international property association, MIPIM. Huang will co-lead KMD's 14-person office in Seattle, with Larry Parrett. The office also recently won two science facilities totaling 420,000 square feet in Richland; a master plan, site analysis and concept design for a new Snohomish County justice center in Everett; and a 20,000-square-foot retrofit design for the Evergreen Neurological Institute in Kirkland.

Hammond Collier Wade Livingstone

Hammond Collier Wade Livingstone's Omak office recently added Rod Picking and Dawn Sams to the materials testing department. Picking is a materials testing technician II, responsible for concrete, soils and asphalt testing. Sams, a materials testing technician I, will provide technical support.

Parametrix

The Bremerton office of Parametrix hired Joseph Coppo. He has 16 years of experience specializing in park planning, environmental permitting and land use planning. Coppo is working on the Sinclair Inlet restoration as project manager, leading planning and public involvement efforts for the Bremerton boardwalk and managing environmental permits for the Hood Canal Bridge.

Baylis Architects

Susan Busch has been promoted to associate at Baylis Architects. She returned to Baylis in 2004 after being a sole proprietor in Kirkland for 10 years. Recent projects have been homes in Shanghai, Kirkland, Bellevue and Issaquah.

W&H Pacific

W&H Pacific hired six people in its Bothell headquarters. Jon Warren joined as survey business line manager. He is a professional land surveyor with 30 years of experience and will manage the firm's survey and mapping services. Allen Prouty joined as project manager, and will also oversee construction management services. He has 21 years of experience in design and construction for road, bridge, tunnel and other public works projects. Celeste Low is project manager with a primary focus on aviation projects. Tracy Miller will direct corporate marketing and work on strategic planning. Other new staff are Alexandra Garner as marketing coordinator and Janel Hammond as marketing assistant. They will provide marketing services for the Bothell, Olympia, Spokane and Sumner offices.

Triad Associates

Triad Associates of Kirkland hired Erika Jensen as a project planner. Jensen was previously a senior planner with Snohomish County PDS where she worked on long-range planning in the Code Development Division. She was part of a three-person team responsible for updating the county's shoreline management master program. Triad also hired Jennifer Bixel as accounting manager. She has 18 years of experience in accounting, auditing and tax preparation.

Paladino & Co.

Paladino & Co. has hired Cathy Edens, Megan Ritchie Saffitz, Zosia Bornik and Dana Flatow. Edens is director of business development and will lead the firm's business and marketing efforts. Saffitz is an associate consultant and will provide technical support to design teams in planning and landscape architecture. Bornik is a specialist in building controls and post-occupancy evaluation. Flatow, a specialist, recently worked for Dekker/Perich/Sabatini in Albuquerque, N.M., where she provided support on LEED projects.
