Landau Associates recently hired Brian Taylor, CAD lead, Kara Kanaby, staff archaeologist, Emily Slack, assistant engineer, Jeff Larson, IT administrator and Marylee Tilla, executive assistant in the Edmonds office, and Annika Deutsch, assistant geologist in the Tacoma office. Taylor has 10 years of experience in CAD and geographic information services. Kanaby has been working for the Shasta-Trinity National Forest and will assist with field surveys and recording archaeological sites. Slack joins the environmental group, working on field services including soil sampling. Larson has 20 years of experience in IT and communications with the U.S. Air Force. Tilla has a background in administrative services and will support the firm's officers. Deutsch is a recent graduate and will support all disciplines.
Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects hired Criss Fournier as senior designer and associate. Fournier will provide project leadership and design for interiors work, including the sustainable renovation of the historic Vance Building in downtown Seattle. She will also be involved in marketing. Fournier helped develop the first Washington State Capitol indoor air quality furniture procurement specification for the East Campus Plus projects.
George Amburn has joined Day CPM Services as a principal and head of the project management firm's new Seattle office. Amburn has a background in multi-discipline engineering and construction administration. Recently, he was program manager for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects with responsibility for defining project scopes, assembling architect-engineer project teams, establishing design fees and schedules, and managing deliverables. Day CPM is an owner advocate and project manager.
Parametrix recently hired Jim Melton as a senior consultant in the natural resources and planning division and Randall Roberts as a principal consultant managing transportation-related projects. Melton will be responsible for business development and project management. Current projects include supporting the BLM Miles City Field Office. Roberts will manage the state Route 532 Camano Island to Interstate 5 project for the State Department of Transportation, currently in the scoping phase. Parametrix also hired Joan Lee to serve as the principal of the Bellevue office, where she will oversee day to day operations as well as be responsible for business development, project delivery, client relations and staff development.
Triad Associates recently hired R. Alan Murray as a senior project engineer. Murray's former firm, Evergreen Engineering Services, provided planning and civil engineering services out of Everett until Triad's acquisition of it in October 2006. Prior to starting Evergreen Engineering, Murray managed capital projects for the city of Seattle's water pollution control and transit departments. Triad also hired Jim Coan as a project surveyor. Coan spent 23 years directing the land surveying program at Renton Technical College and has also taught numerous courses for the Land Surveyors Association and the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping.
Gary Gray has joined Hanson Professional Services as railroad engineer in the Seattle office. He previously worked for BNSF Railway Co. for more than 30 years as manager of estimating and project/field engineer. His experience involves reviewing design projects for public works and industrial track projects. Hanson provides architectural, engineering and management services in 14 U.S. offices.
