IA Interior Architects made additions to its Seattle staff.
Ken Hedlund, director of operations, is responsible for overall office operations as well as Watermark Credit Union, Motorola and numerous Microsoft projects in the United States.
Nick Hines, job captain, has seven years of experience in architecture and is working on Motorola, UBS Financial and Watermark Credit Union.
Carolyn Turina, interior designer, has seven years of experience and is working on Microsoft campus projects, Herman Miller-Zeeland and Watermark Credit Union.
Ivory Campbell, interior designer and a recent graduate of Seattle Art Institute, is working on various projects for Microsoft and Expedia.
Elsa Allen, interior designer, is working on Watermark Credit Union and Expedia jobs.
Mary Moore, a recent graduate of Cornell University, is working on Expedia, Microsoft and Washington Mutual projects.
CollinsWoerman has hired
Kay Compton as design leader. Compton has experience in large-scale projects including mixed-use, office, medical/research, civic and urban design. Compton will continue to lead large-scale projects while fostering collaborative design within teams. Her past project experience includes the new U.S. Federal Courthouse in Seattle and Vulcan’s Interurban Exchange Building in South Lake Union.
Sparling named
Nathan Larmore, Maureen Jackson and
Gwynn Raimondi associates of the firm. Larmore joined Sparling four years ago as an information technology consultant. He specializes in wide area networks, campus networks and wireless network design in health care, educational, corporate and civic settings. Jackson joined Sparling in 2003 as an electrical engineer and project manager for health care and commercial projects. Raimondi has been with Sparling since 1998. She has been a project manager and designer on health care projects.
LRS Architects of Portland promoted
Daniel Drake to an associate with the firm, and promoted associate
Michelle Startt to interiors director. LRS also added
Tom Houha as a project manager. Drake joined the firm in 1996 and is assigned to the Ron Tonkin Family of Dealerships, Beaverton Auto Group and Harsch Investments projects. Startt will manage the interior design studio. Startt has been with LRS since 1998 and was promoted to associate in 2005. Houha joined with 23 years of experience designing a variety of projects. He is project manager for Sparks Senior Housing in Nevada for Cascade Living.
Baylis Architects promoted
Meredith Haughawaut Everist to associate. Everist has experience with retail and office, banks, credit unions and industrial warehouses. She was a project architect on a series of First Mutual Bank branch offices and on Costco Wholesale warehouses. She is experienced in wood, steel, concrete and pre-engineered metal building construction systems.
Jared Moore was named an associate principal and area manager with Carter & Burgess.
Ankrom Moisan Associated Architects made some staff additions.
Rebecca Ettlin joined the interior design department. She is working on the Tetherow Resort in Bend, Ore., and the Performing Arts Building for the Beaverton School District.
Karen Olson joined the hospitality team and is working on several resort projects for Wyndham Vacation Ownership, including a resort in West Yellowstone, Mont. Also on the hospitality team is
Mercedes Lilienthal, who has been working on a Pastini restaurant in downtown Portland and multiple projects for WVO and Sunterra Resorts.
Ellen O’Hern, an architect with 20 years of experience in architecture and landscape architecture, joined the Seattle office. She is focused on 3-D modeling and rendering for Simpson Housing and Tarragon Development.
Allan Wich is part of the hospitality team and is working on projects for RC Hedreen, McCormick & Schmick’s, Sunterra and WVO.
Matt Janssen is an intern architect with 12 years of experience and is focused on mixed-use projects in Portland, San Jose, Calif., and a proposed project in Eugene, Ore.
Matt Stormont has experience in health care architecture, and is working on the Rogue Valley Manor health care expansion and fitness center remodel in Medford, Ore., for Pacific Retirement Services. Intern architects
Mark Heaviland and
Kelsey Bloomer also joined the firm. Both are working on projects for Simpson Housing. Megan McNamara, intern architect, is working on Trinity Terrace for PRS in Fort Worth, Texas.
Ben Barber and
Kelly Coombes joined the administrative staff.
McGranahan Architects hired
Ha Pham and
Kellie Kaiser as project designers. Pham is assisting with phase one of the Cascade Building renovation at Pierce College Fort Steilacoom. Kaiser is part of the design team for North Thurston Public School’s Timberline High School phase three, which is scheduled to begin construction early next year.
Mirai recently hired Katherine Casseday as traffic engineering manager. She will be responsible for project management in the public and private sector. She has more than 28 years of engineering and planning experience. Ming-Bang Shyu joined after recently completing his Ph.D. in transportation engineering. His field is traffic engineering, travel demand forecasting, safety analysis and multi-modal transportation planning.
