Murray, Smith & Associates Engineers/Planners has a new Boise office established by three of the firm's senior engineers,
David Stangel, Craig Anderson and
Dennis Galinato, who have all been named associates and shareholders. Stangel has more than 13 years of municipal engineering experience and is an expert in hydraulic modeling and GIS technology in master planning. Stangel's recent work includes projects for cities in Idaho, Oregon and Washington, Snohomish PUD and the Mountain Home Air Force Base. Anderson has more than 14 years of experience serving public agencies throughout the Pacific Northwest. Galinato has more than nine years of experience managing water, wastewater, and stormwater projects. He recently completed work for Issaquah Highlands, Tamarack Resort and Mountain Home Air Force Base.
IA Interior Architects hired
Tom Pike, Anna Lovell, Katie Solomon and
Julie Woolsey. Pike is a project manager and has more than 17 years of experience in architecture and design. Pike is currently working on the Expedia headquarters in Bellevue and Amazon.com. Lovell has more than 10 years of experience in interior design. She is working on Port Blakely Communities, Expedia and WaMu. Solomon, an interior designer, is part of the Merrill Lynch and WaMu teams. Woolsey, an interior designer, is working on assignments for Expedia, Amazon.com and WaMu.
BHC Consultants promoted
Chanda Emery and
Aubin Phillips to senior planners and
Carlito Tolentino to senior GIS analyst. Emery is a certified planner with seven years of experience in regulation, planning and development review services to clients including Darrington, Gold Bar, and Orting. Phillips is a certified planner with more than three years of experience providing environmental, long-range planning, and planning services to cities and tribes in Washington and Oregon. Tolentino is responsible for producing digital maps, assisting in the development of GIS applications and maintaining the GIS database.
Bernardo-Wills Architects, hired Project Manager Rupali Joshi. Joshi comes to Bernardo-Wills Architects from an architectural and interior design firm in Mumbai, India, where she was a business consultant and partner. She has experience in architectural and interior design as well as master planning landscape design. Joshi is Bernardo-Wills Architects' first employee on an H1B visa, a non-immigrant visa category under the Immigration and Nationality Act.
Callison hired Tom Hippman as an associate principal in its Dallas office. Hippman has more than 15 years of experience in the design and management of large retail centers including projects in Texas and the Ibn Battuta Mall in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Cary Kopczynski & Co. promoted Satish Jain to senior engineer/seismic design lead. Jain is working on the 20-story Bellevue Place Hyatt expansion. CKC also hired Michael J. Park as design engineer and Amanda Bliss as administrative assistant.

KPFF Engineers promoted three employees to principal:
Lamar Scott, Monica Moravec and
Frank Petrie. Scott has more than 32 years of experience managing the design and construction of heavy construction projects, joining KPFF in 1998. He managed the evaluation of bridge alternatives for the Magnolia Bridge and is working as project manager for the Port of Tacoma's East Blair 3 TOTE Terminal. Moravec joined the firm in 2002 and is working on projects for Sound Transit, as the project manager for the Pine Street Tunnel and the civil design manager for University Link. Petrie joined KPFF in 1998. He works with Washington State Ferries, working on capital program planning and project delivery for ferry terminal construction.
The Driftmier Architects of Redmond hired
Abby Flanscha as an intern architect. Flanscha
previously
worked at an architectural firm in Houston and is currently providing architectural support for projects including an analysis for Clallam County PUD.
Parametrix promoted
Denise Ledingham to associate director of marketing and business development. Ledingham will work with local marketing staff to coach and mentor on pre-positioning, proposals and interview strategies. Ledingham joined Parametrix more than seven years ago as the Bremerton office marketing coordinator and then served as the public relations specialist and, most recently as core services manager.
DLR Group promoted Carrie Baldwin to senior associate. Baldwin has 24 years of experience and works in the education studio as a project architect. She is finishing the remodel and addition of Lincoln High School in Tacoma and starting on Marysville Getchell High School. Newly appointed associates include structural engineer Diana Brown, registered architect Gene Hanson and intern architects Erica Loynd, Laura Taylor and Sheri O'Brien.
ArchEcology hired new partners Michelle Rosenberger and Katie Spataro and project coordinator Lynn Clark. Rosenberger leads educational services, providing approved AIA continuing education classes and courses for real estate professionals and others on green building. Spataro focuses her public sector and construction management experience on technical assistance to municipalities and green building project teams. Clark is a facility management professional who supports the firm's LEED documentation services.
Brown and Caldwell hired Roy Brandon and Tiffany Kreider in its Seattle office and Jeff Morgan in Olympia. Brandon joined the Business Consulting Practice group as a senior maintenance reliability engineer. He has more than 20 years of business consulting experience and will be focusing on integrating maintenance and reliability practices and supporting development of BCP project tools. Morgan was hired as a managing engineer and a leader for the Olympia operation. Morgan has more than 20 years of experience. His responsibilities will include client development and project management in the municipal and industrial wastewater practice areas. Kreider was hired as a project coordinator.
